Ultrasound Coincidence

November, 19,  Rukia Kurosaki is now officially 40 weeks pregnant and is due in 2 days. "I can't wait, to see you" Rukia said softly to her very pregnant belly, rubbing it softly. Ichigo placed his hand on top of hers and said "neither can I". Rukia was sitting in a chair outside the doctor's office, along with Ichigo  to get a prenatal check up, and most excitingly a 3D ultrasound. All of a sudden a man stepped out of the office "Kurosaki" he said. "That's us" Ichigo said standing up, as well as helping Rukia stand up. "Come in" he said with a warm smile on his face

Both came into the office and the doctor said "Ok Mrs. Kurosaki just lie down here, and pull up your shirt so I can examine your belly" Rukia smiled and pulled up her shirt to expose her belly. "Is this your first" the doctor asked. Rukia looked over at Ichigo sweetly then back to the doctor "yes this is our first, it's a little girl where going to name her Masaki" Rukia told him holding her husband's hand. "Well congratulations on the pregnancy, and Masaki what a beautiful and wonderful name" Rukia smiled saying "thank you". The doctor was pressing his hand on her lower abdomen felling around, and said  "How far along are you" Rukia said "I'm 40 weeks today I'm due on the 21st".  The doctor was felling around and Rukia let out a giggle as the pushed back. "So is she moving a lot" the doctor asked "Yes a TON" Rukia said. The doctor said "Well its getting crowded in your womb, she's probably giving you signs she wants to come out and meet you" Rukia laughed and said "Yeah I can't wait to meet her too".

As the doctor was finishing his exam on her belly he said "So her head should be around right here" he said pointing to Rukia lower stomach "and her butt should be right here" he said pointing to her upper stomach. "The baby is in a perfect position to be born" Rukia smiled and rubbed her hand over were the baby's head should be. "Would you like to feel too, daddy" the doctor asked Ichigo, Ichigo smiled at being called daddy, "I would love to" he said. He walked over and placed his hand on Rukia's belly, stroking it were the baby's head was. "Hey Masaki, its daddy, I just want to say I love you ok, I love you Masaki" he said kissed her stomach. Rukia smiled and kissed him. The doctor smiled, he loved seeing couple so happy about their upcoming baby, it was one of the reasons he loved his job so much.

The doctor said "Ok, so we are going to check her heartbeat, do a regular ultrasound to see if everything is going well, and then do the 3D ultrasound" Rukia was almost jumping for joy as she looked at her husband. The doctor placed a tiny bit of gel on her belly, and placed the machine on. Ichigo and Rukia heard a thumping sound. "That's your child's heartbeat" the doctor said sweetly. Rukia smiled and placed her head near her husband and closed her eyes, the sound of her child heartbeat always relaxed her. Ichigo held her hand and he smiled as listened to it. "Her heartbeat sound perfectly healthy" Rukia smiled at looked at her husband, as doctor wiped the gel off her stomach.  "Are you ready for the regular ultrasound" They both nodded, as the doctor placed the gel on her stomach. Rukia smiled as the baby appeared on the screen. The doctor was moving the wand around her belly "Her facial features look good, her heart looks good, her fingers look good, she's still a little girl" Ichigo and Rukia laughed
when he said that "And her feet look good, she looks %100, healthy" Ichigo and Rukia smiled at that statement.

The doctor was wiping the gel off her belly and asked her "Are you ready to see your baby in detail". "Of course we are" Rukia told him. The doctor took the gel and placed on Rukia belly, Rukia was shaking with excitement, and the doctor took the wand and placed on her belly. They looked over at the screen and saw an image of a baby in wonderful detail. "Oh my god" Rukia said to herself. She could see her body, feet, hands, legs and head. Rukia felt a few tears stinging her eyes as the felt and saw the baby move slightly on the screen.  "Ichigo look, she's holding her feet" Rukia said her voice breaking.  Ichigo took Rukia's hand and felt his eyes filling up with tears too.  The doctor smiled looking at the proud parents-to-be. The doctor zoomed in on the ultrasound and told them "and you can see her fingers right here clearly" Rukia and Ichigo smiled as they counted her fingers and toes. The doctor then moved the machine up to show the face of the little girl. "And this is your baby's face" tears overflowed Ichigo and Rukia's eyes. "Look she has your nose" Ichigo pointed out to Rukia. The baby then opens her mouth and rubbed her eyes. Rukia gasped with excitement as the baby put herself into a position to sleep, and sucks her thumb. They both have a tear running down there cheek and Rukia says "Ichigo in a two days she will be ours, to hold" and he had more tears running down.  The doctor smiles and hands them a box of tussies. "Thank you" Rukia said wiping her eyes. "Your welcome" the doctor said laughing. When the Ultrasound was finished the doctor handed them photos of Masaki's normal and 3D ultrasound, but there one picture in particular was out of the ordinary.

It was normal ultrasound photo, but it wasn't Masaki that was for sure. Ichigo then spotted a date 'July 14th'and his birth year, and now he was finding things super odd.  "Who is ultrasound of" Ichigo asked confused."A 9 month old fetus" the doctor  said laughing and took out a few more photos. "huh" Ichigo said confused. "That's a 26 year old ultrasound photo taken by me" the doctor mention, "But why did you give it to us" the doctor laughed again and said "It's a little boy actually". "Yes but why did you give it to me" Ichigo asked getting frustrated. The doctor laughed again and said "Because that's you". Ichigo was in pure shock. "Let me explain" the doctor said "26 years ago, on July, 14th, a very good friend of mine came to me asking for one last ultrasound for his wife before their child was to be born. His name was Isshin Kurosaki" Ichigo was in even more shock. "You know my dad" Ichigo asked . "Of course I do I have known him for 30 years, as a friend he gave me the photo to keep along with a few others" Finally everything was starting to click in his mind. "Also there is this picture I want to give you" It was a Photo of a woman with light brown hair, cradling her pregnant belly. "That's… that's my mother" Ichigo said shocked "Yes it is, it was taken after that ultrasound" Ichigo looked back at it "She looks so happy" "She was extremely happy, that photo was taken 12 hours before you were born, she couldn't wait to hold you" the doctor said sweetly. "Wow, thank you" Ichigo said  "No problem" the doctor responded. "Oh and one last thing before we go… uhhh how can you tell the baby was a boy" The doctor laughed and said "That little thing, right there" Ichigo turned bright red, and the his wife and the doctor laughed.
